Faster messaging, richer campaigns, and a more responsive Bible workspace

Today’s Study release focused on making the live product feel more continuous across pages and screen sizes: messaging now follows you around Study, campaigns gained richer visuals and reminders, and Bible tools behave more naturally on desktop and touch devices.

  • Added a floating Study messenger with unread counts, friend search, shared drafts, full conversation actions, typing and read state, real presence, and session-persistent open conversations across Study navigation.
  • Improved messaging reliability under remote database latency by moving typing presence out of serializable transactions, shortening the critical message-write transaction, and keeping notifications from blocking successful sends.
  • Added chat-shaped loading skeletons and kept them visible until both conversation metadata and messages are ready, removing the blank loading gap in restored floating chats.
  • Added optional private campaign images backed by R2, made campaign cards and detail heroes more cinematic, and polished the compact Recharts reading-progress strip.
  • Completed saved Study notification preferences, access-change notices, scheduled campaign reminders, and opt-in daily email summaries with duplicate-delivery protection.
  • Fixed Study Home on small screens without changing desktop gutters, then replaced Reading History’s native month and year menus with working shadcn Select controls.
  • Refreshed the Study sidebar announcements for live campaigns and floating chat, and locked announcement descriptions to a consistent compact height.
  • Restored the taller Bible chapter workspace, kept the chapter hero visible on first entry, and returned Verse Tools panel visibility to explicit user control instead of auto-opening when a tool is selected.
  • Added touch-first passage actions: long-press to begin selection, tap another verse to extend the range, and open the full passage-tool set in a bottom drawer instead of relying on right-click.
  • Made Bible drawings follow the verses they were created over when the reader reflows across desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts, while preserving and upgrading older drawing records without a database migration.
  • Separated campaign reading-progress loading from normal Bible mutations so highlighting, saving, and other passage actions no longer show the misleading “Marking chapter read…” spinner.

Study is live

GreatestOfLove Study is now open, bringing Bible reading, study campaigns, notes, friends, messages, and shared Scripture activity into one connected workspace.

  • Opened Study as a live part of GreatestOfLove instead of a future platform preview.
  • Updated the homepage, sign-up flow, navigation, and campaign previews to reflect the live Study product.
  • Changed the default post-sign-in destination to Study while preserving explicit safe return URLs.
  • Added offline friend-request email notifications so people can see connection requests even when they are away.
  • Improved production reliability around database-backed blog routes, sitemap generation, analytics, and authentication deployment behavior.

The Bible reader became a full study workspace

The Bible experience expanded from reading into a customizable workspace for selecting passages, highlighting, drawing, commenting, saving, sharing, exporting, and launching related Study actions.

  • Added persisted reading preferences for fonts, spacing, reader sizing, translation defaults, and reset actions.
  • Expanded Bible highlights with the note-style color palette plus favorite and recent colors.
  • Built a customizable selected-passage toolbar shared across selection, context-menu, and header actions.
  • Wired in-place book and chapter actions for Scripture search, notes, campaign creation, sharing, and study activity.
  • Added profile Study-history views for reading activity and Bible drawings, plus extensive reader interaction and modal fixes.

Collaboration, notes, and Bible social activity

Notes and Bible activity became much more collaborative, with richer sharing controls, attributed collaborators, exact passage links, and notifications tied to what people actually share.

  • Added editable note collaborators with view, comment, and edit permissions plus attributed collaborator colors.
  • Added private note cover images and local-first note drafts so empty notes are not created before the user starts writing.
  • Added Bible share and mention notifications for comments, voice reflections, campaign replies, and exact Scripture passages.
  • Finished Bible chapter export workflows with system notifications for completed exports.
  • Expanded range-selection tools with animated marquee selection, sticky range anchors, and persistent selection guides.

Admin, onboarding, and publishing operations

The operational side of Study matured with better user administration, staff activity, onboarding emails, and a more reliable publishing workflow.

  • Rebuilt admin user management on the shared data table with search, paging, selection, role actions, and direct email tools.
  • Added branded admin-user email delivery and recorded the delivery result without storing the email body in activity history.
  • Added welcome notifications and welcome emails for new GreatestOfLove accounts.
  • Added staff and user notifications for role changes and polished staff indicators across Study.
  • Improved the public blog renderer and moved articles, tags, categories, and comments onto the shared admin table system.

Study Home switched from placeholders to real data

The Study dashboard was connected to the signed-in user’s real private data so Home now reflects actual reading, notes, campaigns, friends, and recent activity.

  • Connected Study Home stats to real Bible reading, notes, campaigns, and friend counts.
  • Rebuilt recent activity from real notification data with private, recipient-scoped behavior.
  • Connected Continue Reading and campaign cards to persisted reading history and campaign membership.
  • Added resilient section-level loading and error handling so one failed domain does not take down the entire dashboard.
  • Removed fake trends and placeholder activity while preserving the existing Study Home design.

Premium 404 and route handling

A new not-found experience that feels like part of the product instead of a generic error page.

  • Added a custom root 404 page for unmatched routes.
  • Designed the page around the same editorial SaaS layout used on the homepage and download page.
  • Added route-state cards, quick links, and mobile-friendly recovery actions.
  • Kept the page noindex-friendly so broken routes do not become SEO targets.

Command search and navigation polish

Search, navigation, and command palette behavior were cleaned up for a smoother product feel.

  • Added a scoped site search system for marketing pages now and Study search later.
  • Fixed duplicate Ctrl + K command menus by allowing only the desktop search instance to own the shortcut.
  • Rebuilt the command palette with smoother Framer Motion open and close transitions.
  • Improved command palette spacing, header, footer, and result density to match the GreatestOfLove design system.

Blog reading experience

The blog article layout was reworked to feel calmer, more readable, and more like a premium editorial product.

  • Removed the trapped middle article scroll so posts now scroll naturally with the page.
  • Made the author/share rail and table-of-contents rail sticky on larger screens.
  • Updated the right rail and latest-post areas to use the new fade scroll system.
  • Improved the table of contents with icons, section labels, and better hover feedback.
